Bike to Work Day 2012

1 05 2012

It’s that time of year again where the municipalities across Canada and the United States promote cycling to work as an alternative commuting option. Some municipalities integrate it into a month, others a week, and most into just a day. (Factoid: The concept was originated by the League of American Bicyclists in 1956) The ultimates goal (of this many other enlightened/converts) is to encourage the culture of cycling into everyday living.

Join other Hamiltonians in the “Bike-In” on Monday, May 28, 2012

This year event in Hamilton includes:

  • A central Welcome Reception in Gore Park for riders in the downtown area;
  • “Bike-In’s” from across the city to Gore Park, led be experienced local riders;
  • A number of great prizes and giveaways for participants, including a regional grand prize!

Registration (which will open shortly) for the event is led by the always progressive work of SmartCommute Hamilton.
